The theme was safety and it looked like most kids thought of water safety or fire safety or car/driving safety. I think one reason Blake won was because his was creative. . . it was about food safety. Here he is with his winning poster on display.

If you can't see it well, he drew a picture of a sandwich with mold growing out of it. It says "Don't let your food spoil, or it might spoil you."

Not only did he get cake, a gift certificate, recognition, etc. but he got 25 copies of the calendar. His picture is on the March page.
